Care and Learning

We work within the ELECT (Early Learning for Every Child Today) curriculum framework, delivering an emergent, child centred and play based curriculum to all age groups. Observations made on each child help to frame the activities offered on any given day. Programming documentation is recorded daily, letting parents know what they can expect to see in their child's classroom.

Play based Learning is a process that involves continuous opportunities for exploration and interactions. All classes  have age-appropriate toys and equipment and both indoor and outdoor play spaces. Classrooms allow for quiet and active play; dramatic and messy play and  large group experiences. Toys and books are arranged so that children have independent  access.

A strong indicator of quality is related to the education of staff and their participation in ongoing training in the field of early childhood development and care.  Our caring, professional and competent staff  apply their knowledge of early childhood and use resources and materials to plan age appropriate activities and provide responsive caregiving. The staff use routines to promote learning and look for opportunities to have meaningful conversations and interactions with children daily.
