Father's Day / ‘Grown Ups Who Love Us’ Day

Updated: May 15, 2023

On June 19th, 2022, Fathers’ Day is celebrated all over the world to acknowledge and appreciate the role of fathers who play a very important role in our families, and in society at large. As educators it is imperative that we include 'diverse' families or 'members' as well. So to honour and include them, we will also call this ‘Grown Ups Who Love Us’ day.

We want to make these celebrations inclusive as these too are important life learning experiences and also opportunities to discuss and acknowledge the many diverse families/ members/ caregivers in our communities who care so deeply for our children!

When Father’s Day / ‘Grown Ups Who Love Us’ rolls around, there’s no shortage of activities or gifts that you can enjoy either as a family, or one-on-one . It's not about the price of gifts or how extravagant the outing is, but rather to express how meaningful and important they are to you!

Here are a few ideas that some of the LCCC kids have been thinking about when it comes to Father's Day/ Grown Ups Who Love Us Day! It will definitely be something they will cherish for years to come. There is nothing greater than having these moments of helping those you love, spending quality time or giving that handmade gifts/treats for your dad or that special someone!

Also here are some book recommendations for the many fathers and grownups who love us that you can read together!
