Sandra Fernandes RECE

Registered Early Childhood Educator

Hi My name is Sandra Fernandes. I came to Canada when I was two years old when my parents and I immigrated from Portugal. Over the years my family and I have been involved in the Portuguese Community dancing in folklore dances and we performed in different cultural events. I am currently a Preschool 1 teacher. I graduated from George Brown with a Diploma as an Early Childhood Educator in June of 1990 and in July of 1990 I was a full-time employee of the center only six months after they opened their doors.  LCCC has not only built my career over 31 years but also my family.  Both of my daughters Annabel & Melissa attended the center as children and also worked at LCCC. Annabel followed in my footsteps and still works in the center & Melissa went into Business. LCCC has been like a second home to me. I look forward to helping build a solid foundation when it comes to the upbringing of the children at the centre.

Precious Akinsiku

Early Childhood Assistant

Hello there, my name is Precious and I am an educator in the Preschool 1 room at LCCC.  I was born and raised in Toronto but my family is originally from Nigeria.  I am passionate and dedicated to building relationships with children that are not only caring and compassionate but also trustworthy and respectful.  In my downtime, I enjoy reading and spending time with my dog.  An interesting fact about me is that I started playing tennis when I was three years old and used to play competitively.

Chatezz LaFleur

Early Childhood Assistant

Hello everyone! My name is Chatezz LaFleur but you can call me Tezz for short. I have always had a passion for working with children of all ages. I have had many experiences working with children from raising my nine-year-old daughter, to working as a child care chef, to working in a before and after school program. I am incredibly happy to be working at Lakeshore Community Childcare Centre as my daughter has attended their summer program and I instantly loved the welcoming and enthusiastic environment. I am currently enrolled in an apprenticeship program through LCCC to become a Registered Early Childhood Educator. I believe in developing engaging programming that follows children’s interests and I believe that building rapport is the core to helping children grow. I am very excited to get to know you all and work with your wonderful children.

Stacey O'Neill RECE

Registered Early Childhood Educator

Hello, my name is Stacey and I am an RECE in the preschool 2 classroom at LCCC. I have been a part of the LCCC team for almost three years now and I love the community we have built here. I have been working with children for over 11 years in a variety of settings but LCCC is by far my favourite experience! My teaching style encourages children to explore and be creative partners in planning our program. That means their interests drive what we focus on. I'm a big fan of the outdoors, so I try to bring the natural world into the classroom as much as possible. In my spare time, I like to read or make art. I really enjoy using watercolours or practicing my calligraphy to relax.

Emily Mallett RECE

Registered Early Childhood Educator

My name is Emily, and I’ve been a part of the LCCC community for almost three years. In addition to being a Registered Early Childhood Educator, I also have a Bachelor's degree in Child & Youth Studies from Brock University. I grew up in a really small town, but I’ve been loving living in the big TO for the past few years. In the classroom, I like to incorporate creative projects into the program as much as possible. I like to use mixed mediums to let the children explore all their artistic abilities! In my spare time I also like to create art, painting most of my own art pieces for my little home and hanging them all around the apartment.

Katarina Servejova

Hey there! My name is Katarina Servejova and I currently work in the Preschool 2 room. I have been working at LCCC for the last 9 years. What I love most about working here is, I get to watch each and every child grow and strive to be independent. I enjoy how friendly and welcoming all the families are and all the wonderful people I get to work with on a daily basis. They are superheroes! I was born and raised in Slovakia and came to Canada in 2002. I speak fluently in Slovak and understand some Polish and Ukrainian also. My hobbies include being outdoors as much as possible. In my free time, I like to go out for bike rides and explore.
