Sandra Fernandes RECE

Registered Early Childhood Educator

Hi My name is Sandra Fernandes. I came to Canada when I was two years old when my parents and I immigrated from Portugal. Over the years my family and I have been involved in the Portuguese Community dancing in folklore dances and we performed in different cultural events. I am currently a Preschool 1 teacher. I graduated from George Brown with a Diploma as an Early Childhood Educator in June of 1990 and in July of 1990 I was a full-time employee of the center only six months after they opened their doors.  LCCC has not only built my career over 31 years but also my family.  Both of my daughters Annabel & Melissa attended the center as children and also worked at LCCC. Annabel followed in my footsteps and still works in the center & Melissa went into Business. LCCC has been like a second home to me. I look forward to helping build a solid foundation when it comes to the upbringing of the children at the centre.

What I love most about working here is, I get to watch each and every child grow and strive to be independent. I enjoy how friendly and welcoming all the families are and all the wonderful people I get to work with on a daily basis. They are superheroes! I was born and raised in Slovakia and came to Canada in 2002. I speak fluently in Slovak and understand some Polish and Ukrainian also. My hobbies include being outdoors as much as possible. In my free time, I like to go out for bike rides and explore.

Emily Mallett

Registered Early Childhood Educator

My name is Emily, and I’ve been a part of the LCCC community for almost three years. In addition to being a Registered Early Childhood Educator, I also have a Bachelor's degree in Child & Youth Studies from Brock University. I grew up in a really small town, but I’ve been loving living in the big TO for the past few years. In the classroom, I like to incorporate creative projects into the program as much as possible. I like to use mixed mediums to let the children explore all their artistic abilities! In my spare time I also like to create art, painting most of my own art pieces for my little home and hanging them all around the apartment.
