Mom-Mosas, Tea and Time Together

Excitement, creativity, cooperation and warmth were emotions felt throughout our centre over the past week as we geared up for Mother's Day. A day to celebrate not only mothers, but all the adults in the lives of children who show up tirelessly every day to love them, care for them and support all of their needs. Through drop-offs, pick-ups and everything in between, we see the way the mom's and special adults in each child's life go above and beyond to ensure their comfort, safety and happiness 24 hours, 365 days a year. So we wanted to put aside at least one day to show them how valued and appreciated they truly are, and we welcomed moms, dads and all parents into a sunny afternoon of mom-mosa's, tea and quality time at LCCC.

Creating Something Special

Our educators always find a way to offer the children in their care opportunities for creativity and self-expression and this is no different when it comes to creating gifts for their mom or special adult. The children focused their energy into creating a gift that was not only personalized to their parent, but with a touch of themselves crafted right into it.

The Final Product

From functional tote bags to forever keepsakes, each homemade gift shows the special bond shared between the child and their parent, as if they thought of warm memories and special moments during the entire process.

A Personalized Party

Our staff and children were excited to plan and setup a brunch themed afternoon for the moms and special adults of our community. Some staff planned the menu, some created a handmade photo wall and our School Age children assisted in setting up and helping serve.

We will always love the ability to create special bonds with the children in our care, getting to know each of them individually day in and day out. But a lesser-known truth to the profession is how much we enjoy getting to develop relationships with the parents and caregivers of the children we love so much. Preparing and hosting special events such as these gives us the opportunity to share in moments of community and togetherness with both the children and their parents. And we can't wait to continue on this way!
